The Hypocrisy of President Bush’s Concerns over China’s Human Rights Abuses

Recently, President Bush was quoted as saying,

“I have spoken clearly, candidly and consistently with China’s leaders about our deep concerns over religious freedom and human rights.”

Am I the only one who is tired of the endless hypocrisy that flows like raging rivers out of the mouths of these politicians? President Bush, where are your “deep concerns” over the human rights abuses endured by fathers in the United States? Where are your concerns about the innocent fathers who are incarcerated without trials, without counsel and who were arrested without even having been mirandized?

Where are your deep concerns Mr. President for the fathers who are forcefully kept away from their children by “temporary” protection orders (TPO’s) that were secured through perjury in false affidavits? Mr. President, where is your deep concern for those fathers who have had everything they once owned illegally seized by the Child Support Enforcement Agencies (CSEAs) to pay for child support arrears on children that aren’t theirs?

I wrote my congressman Steve Chabot about my concerns regarding the treatment of fathers by the State of Ohio, and he wouldn’t even reply to my letters. It was not until I wrote Mr. Chabot a third letter (that I also posted to this blog after advising his office that I was doing so) that I received a reply from ‘him.’

Sadly, whichever aid pretended to be Mr. Chabot when they replied to me, had replied back with a letter that made absolutely no sense. I received a generic response that quite comically, didn’t even make sense as a response to my concerns.

Our nations jails are filled with countless innocent fathers. Fathers, who were incarcerated without trials, without counsel, and without having been mirandized, and President Bush lectures China’s leaders regarding human rights abuses? We are the number one incarcerator in the world, and our President points his finger at China and castigates Chinese leaders for human rights abuses?

Mr. President, is the war in Iraq your idea of how to respect human rights?

Terrorists clamor, “Give in to our demands or we attack you.” The United States clamors, “Give in to our demands or we attack you.” Who’s who?
